Pixies are tiny, often mischievous beings originally from British folklore. They likely have Celtic roots, but have since been adapted and changed into a larger variety of pixie-like beings used in a wide range of works of fiction. Traditional depictions of pixies often show them without wings and with pointed ears, but today they're often depicted with butterfly-like wings. Part of this is because they're often confused with fairies, though even their origin stories are thought to have origins in spriggan and fairy mythologies, so confusion is to be expected.
The names in this generator are based on the Celtic origins of pixies, and primarily the Cornish origins as pixies are most prominent in the Western region of England and thus in Cornwall. The names in this generator are fake names to hint at the Celtic origins while maintaining a difference from humans, but some generated names may still end up being a real name.
