Ankoan names - World of Warcraft
This name generator will give you 10 random names fit for the ankoan of the World of Warcraft universe, as well as the Warcraft universe in general.
The ankoan are a species of bipedal, somewhat humanoid fish beings resembling anglerfish as far as their heads go. They're an ancient species who inhabit the deep sea floors and are hunted by the naga to the point of being an extant species at the brink of becoming extinct. Those still alive know there is no way to rebuild their population and so they dedicate their lives to the destruction of the naga.
Honor is important to the ankoan, as are their ancestors. Those who have died honorably are remembered, while those who died dishonorably are purposefully forgotten.
Ankoan names, like their overall armor and honor aesthetics, are inspired by Edo-Japan and the samurai. Anko, from which their name is derived, means anglerfish in Japanese, for example. This makes their personal names very melodic and there doesn't seem to be a difference between male and female names.
