Fallout is a game franchise by Tim Cain set in an alternative, post-apocalyptic America in the 21st, 22nd and 23rd centuries after thermonuclear war ravaged the world. The overall aesthetic is influenced heavily by the 1950s, despite the more futuristic setting as a whole. There are, at the time of writing, 4 main games, with many spin offs, a TTRPG, and a tv-show.
In the video games, you usually play as a survivor trying to navigate the post-apocalyptic wasteland to complete quests, deal with gangs and monsters, and so on. The character you play as usually is given a title based on the story of the game.
