Free city names - Game of Thrones (ASoIaF)

This name generator will give you 10 random names for the people of the Nine Fee Cities, part of both the Game of Thrones tv show and the A Song Of Ice And Fire book series.

The Free Cities are nine mighty, independent cities East of Westeros across the narrow sea. With the exception of Braavos, all cities were once part of the empire of Valyria, remnants of which still remain as shown by the languages.
Low Valyrian or Bastard Valyrian is a form of High Valyrian spoken in the Free Cities. They've developed beyond mere dialects and can almost be considered as 9 different languages.

The names in the Free Cities are a huge mix of many different influences, including Valyrian. The 'ae' which is part of so many Valyrian names is also found in a fair amount of Free City names.
However, there are plenty of other name types and it's hard or impossible to pinpoint specific naming conventions. Some people use surnames, others don't. Some names sound more Arabic, while others sound more Latin.

I used the existing names and the influences to generate names which fit in nicely with this mix of cultural influences. Some people choose to accentuate their Valyrian blood by choosing Valyrian-esque names, while others have a mix of different influences in their names, which is pretty much what will happen in this random generator.
You could end up with a fairly typical Valyrian name, a Latin-sounding name or a combination of both and much more.

Oddly enough, male names do tend to end in 'o', 'os' and 'or', no matter where you are. Exceptions exist of course, like Jaqen H'ghar (arguably a fake name of the Faceless Man, unfit for the Free Cities) and Tregar Ormollen.
Female names tend to end in 'a' and 'ah'.

As I mentioned, not everybody uses a surname, although it usually seems to be encouraged to pick one. Surnames pretty much follow the same (lack of) naming conventions of first names.
