This name generator will generate 10 names, which will fit most Filipino styles of names. Due to the huge variety of cultural influences in the Philippines, their names are varied as well.
The biggest cultural influence is the Spanish influence, which is seen in first and last names. Spanish surnames are a result of imposed rules, which made taxing and general record keeping easier when Spain ruled the Philippines.
This also resulted in the way names are constructed.
Most Filipinos have 2 first names, a middle name, and a surname. However, this is where things get interesting. While their first names are usually either English, Spanish, or a mixture of both, their middle name and surname can be a number of things.
Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Hispanic, English, French, Portuguese, and quite a few other European-influenced names are used. Though the latter are fairly rare.
This means a Filipino person could have an English first name, a Spanish second name, a Chinese middle name and a Filipino surname.
There are a few differences within the Philippines on this system. Some don't use this heavily Spanish influenced convention, but the majority does, which is why I stuck with this system for this generator.
