Their fields are lush and fertile, and were once considered to be the granaries of the Middle Kingdom before the Aranians' independence. The goddess of agriculture and healing, Peraine, is ranked the highest within the hierarchy of gods, which reflects both the importance of agriculture as well as the matriarchal society of Aranians.
Geographically, the Aranians lie between the Middle Kingdom and the Tulamide lands, which is reflected in their names as well. Aranian names are a mixture of Germanic and Arabian influences, which means you end up with names like Hassanfried, Shabobert and Jashild.
Female names are more melodic overall, but male names can be melodic as well.
