Byzantine name generator

This name generator will give you 10 random Byzantine names.

The Byzantine empire was the empire left after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Despite the name assigned to them by historians the Byzantines considered themselves to be Romans, and to be the Roman Empire, which is part of why the Byzantine Empire is also called the Eastern Roman Empire.
The Byzantines lived similarly to the Romans of the Western Roman Empire, they had Roman law, spoke Latin, and much of their culture and morals were the same, though some were altered by their Christian religion. In the early 600s AD they did replace Latin with Greek as a language, which is reflected in some of their names as well.

Byzantine names are similar to the Romans, but many of their names are names of Roman Saints and Hellenic names instead. They still follow roughly the same naming conventions though, with most female names ending in -a and -ia, and all Latin names from that time would fit the Byzantines as well, though the later in time you go the more common the Saint and Hellenic names become.
