This name generator will generate 10 random Thai names in their Romanized forms.
Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia with a population of over 68 million people, making it the 20th most populous country in the world. Their economy is also the 20th largest, a big part of which is thanks to tourism and agriculture.
The Thai family name system is different from most other countries. In the year 1913 all Thai families had to pick a family name, but every family had to have a different last name. This means there are countless Thai family names, but, unfortunately for foreigners, many Thai last names are incredibly long and nearly impossible to pronounce without some practice.
This generator only has 'shorter' surnames, but many of them are still much longer than most Western surnames.
Also, from what I've read, Thai people rarely use their family name, apparently it's possible to have a best friend for years without really knowing their family name.
Thai people also generally use a nickname rather than their first name as using their first name is usually too formal. I've been told Thai nicknames can be almost anything, from nouns and adjectives to names from other languages.
