Tellarite names - Star Trek
This generator will generator 10 random names at a time, fit for the Tellarite species of the Star Trek universe.
The Tellarites were a species of short humanoids with snouts, thick bears, hoof-like hands with just 3 fingers and deep-set eyes surrounded by rough skin.
Tellarites are impatient, proud and stubborn and any emotion they felt was usually felt strongly. Arguing was a sport to the Tellarites, which they enjoyed very much. When meeting a new person they would start of by complaining to them, but if there was nothing to complain about they would simply resort to insulting the other.
Tellarite names are very guttural and contain plenty of hard sounds. No female Tellarite was ever shown in canon productions, let alone named, but they were in unofficial canon productions, so I used those names for both male and female names.
Tellarites sometimes have an non-capitalized part in their name, between their first name and surname. I found a few posts of the author who first used this system (Christopher L. in Aftermath) and he said the purpose of those parts are similar to 'tussenvoegsels' in Dutch, which are words related to a surname. Without going too technical in my explanation and to quote the author, they're like the 'da' in Leonardo da Vinci (meaning Leonardo of Vinci).
In later works other authors used other words, which could be seen as 'tussenvoegsels' as well, or they could be something different completely. Like indicating the relation between two Tellarites, a status in society or something completely different. It's pretty much up to you.
