Surki names - Pathfinder
This name generator will give you 10 random names fit for the surki part of the Pathfinder universe.
Surki are a species of giant insects who live underground and live off of the magical energies in the air. They filter feed on this magic, rather than eating meals like other ancestries might. They store this magic within nodes throughout their bodies, which go through three stages of growth. Those stages being larva, adult, and evolved.
Their larval state begins within their eggs and can range from 10 to 100 years while they wait for the moment they've been able to accumulate enough magic from their environment. While in this grub-like state, they're still two feet long.
Their adult state appears after the larval state has gone into a cocoon for multiple days. Once emerged, they are bipedal and have two arms with three-fingered hands. They're more rounded in shape, and have chitinous plates covering much of their bodies. As they continue to accumulate magic, which they use for different physical adaptations, the nodes within which the magic resides might show themselves as bio-luminescence.
Their final, evolved form is largely an expression of their individuality through magic. They'll undergo another metamorphosis, though not one as drastic as going from larval state to adult. Magic will grant them a form best suited to either their environment or chosen role in life. It could, for example, be a set of magical wings capable of carrying them beyond what physical wings would be able to. Additionally, their magical abilities are stronger and can manifest after this last metamorphosis.
Surki names are chosen upon adulthood, though they do have a name from their larval state conveyed entirely through their six larval legs like sign language. Each larval name is considered personal and a possession, and as such it is frowned upon to repeat a chosen sign name.
Adults often incorporate their larval name in their chosen name, though don't expect other ancestries to be able to replicate the signing part. Their chosen name tends to reflect who they have become, and are descriptive in nature. They might change during their life, but upon death will always change to a past tense wherever applicable.
