Jötnar names - Percy Jackson
This name generator will give you 10 random names fit for the jotnar part of the Percy Jackson universe.
The Jötnar (singular Jötunn) are primordial humanoids native to Jutunheim, Muspellheim, and Nilfheim. Most look like any regular human might, but others are born with claws, misshapen bodies, extra body parts, or become giants as they grow. Some are not humanoid at all, like the children of Loki, Fenrir and Jormungand. Additionally, some Jötnar are also gods, like Mimir, and Skadi. In Norse mythology, the Jötnar aren't technically gods despite being part of the same species as Aesir (they're different tribes), but this is due to the term god being a matter of being part of the Aesir or Vanir clan or at least associated with them.
In Percy Jackson, Jötnar are loosely divided into different types, including frost, fire, mountain, and storm.
In Percy Jackson, the Jötnar have names of those in the original myths, though latinized for ease of reading, and usually with a later spelling of names when a grammatical r was removed as a nominative suffix. As such, you'll find other names from the Norse myths below. Old Norse names are technically gendered, though only some Jötnar names are revealed to be one way or another through context beyond grammatical structures I do not grasp well enough to be able to decipher each name. So below you'll see either an (m) if the name belonged to a male Jötunn, or (f) if it belonged to a female Jötunn. All others can technically be figured out through grammatical rules, but it'll be up to you to decide if this even matters to your characters.
